DeZ Vylenz: Hm, will try to keep it to the bare bones. I come from The Wild Coast, this twilight zone between the Caribbean and South America. My main focus is on writing and directing for film, but storytelling in general is what drives me, so comics and music are other media I'm experimenting with at present. Martial Arts are the basic core of my life, to give the whole insane journey some more structure, mentally and spiritually. I won't go too far into it cuz we could take

days just talking about Kung Fu, but for me it's a matter of using the same principles and philosophy that normally would apply to physical combat and survival of the body, to a more creative use of the mind. It's actually going beyond the Ego and the mind to the deeper instinctive functioning of the Soul. Martial Arts brings me back to the roots so to speak, yet it shapes and stylizes the chaotic energy which we all have inside, to a more focussed approach to life. Now and then I get the opportunity to do fight choreography for films, not of the flying fantasy kind, more the realistic gritty style.
