sm: Why do you write comics? Is this the medium you want to express yourself with or is it just a phase in your career? I mean, some comics writers seem to show strong interest in maybe writing novels or for television or movies...

BVK: Comics is a calling. I may write more films, plays, novels, etc. someday, but this is my medium of choice. I get the largest audience with the lowest amount of creative interference (none).

sm: I am sure you said something like "Alan Moore is my God", maybe I read it on your website. And then you wrote Swamp Thing and recently a Tom Strong story. What do you admire in Moore and what did he teach you? Maybe in term of writing techniques or themes…

BVK: I would be a fool to ever try to write like Moore, but I admire his passion, his endless inventiveness, and his desire to create new things. And he taught me that it's more important to be a good person than a great writer.

sm: You know I am a big fan of Moore. Right now to tell you the truth I am really worried that next year could become a nightmare year for any Moore's fan... I am referring to the movie adaptation of two Moore's masterpieces, Watchmen and V for Vendetta... but, we'll see... your opinion?

BVK: Who cares about movies? No one can touch his comics, and that's all that matters, yeah?
